SUPPORTED BODY WORKSHOP
Â
FREE workshop SUPPORTED BODY on Monday March 31, 7pm-8:15pm ESTÂ (online).
Â
This January I went to Berlin for a 2-week movement intensive.
When I got home, I had the strong prompt to paint again—moving me between health research and painting. I have been exploring scientific models using artistic tools AND here is how this approach to health information might be essential to our wellbeing...
Â
Health information is valuable but is based on averages, that come from large research studies. (I have a blog post about how science averages are not you, you can read it here)
Â
So, when applying health information to ourselves we need tools of refining and re-making in order to meet the needs and specificity of us as individuals.
Â
I am not talking about creative expression but the practice of refining something. We do this when we play music, dance, sing, paint, cook, write... it is the process of making things better. When it comes to movement, health or your body—the thing you are making better is yourself.
Â
This kind of refining process is often critically important to understanding our body's unique alignment, and adjusting routines as we move through life stress, injuries and the arc of aging.
Â
Too often, the health industry convinces us that we just need the "right plan" or more motivation—rather than recognizing that to be a human in a body, is a living, changing and creative act.
Â
I want to give you some tools that I have been using with my private clients that help them re-imagine how to go about this body stuff.
Â
So, I am offering a new FREE workshop SUPPORTED BODY on Monday March 31, 7pm-8:15pm EST (online). It is about taking health models and making them fit to YOU.Â
Â
If you are finding it hard to put the pieces together for your body, come and join us!
Â
This workshop is for you if:
-
You want to get stronger but have injuries or chronic pain.
-
You love a form of exercise but it also sometimes aggravates or isn't progressing you.
-
You know what you could do to feel better but feel stuck or unmotivated.
-
You have a hard time being consistent with your practices.
-
You are stuck doing the same things even though they aren't totally working anymore.
Â
This workshop is not about making art, it is about making ourselves.
Optimizing health information but applying it with the nuance, vitality, and process of making something with love and care—like our bodies!
I hope you will join me! You can sign up HERE.
